Samsung Robot Wars is a multi-player battle robot battle we made for Samsung. Attendees are transformed into giant robots and battle it out by throwing virtual buildings and stepping on tanks.
For IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) at CES 2017 we created a multi-user untethered VR museum called the IEEE UNIVRSE. IEEE and its members helps advance technology for humanity and we wanted to share 3 historical IEEE connection to technologies inside of the space.For the hardware, we used the MSI VR One backpacks, the Oculus CV1 as the HMD, and 12 Optitrack cameras with markers for tracking the heads, hands and artifacts.
HOLOLEMS is a holographic homage to classic 90's video game Lemmings. The objective is to guide a gang of impressionable digital arvicolinae through a number of real world obstacles to a designated subnivean subclave while wearing Microsoft's HoloLens.

Arris/Toyota VR Pit Crew Challenge
The Arris Toyota VR Pit Crew Challenge is a virtual reality installation situated at each 2017 NASCAR Races. Toyota ARRIS racing wanted to showcase exciting new technology that engages the race goers and puts them right in with the pit crew. The timed challenges is to swap tires on the official Toyota ARRIS Nascar as it rolls in the pit. The 2 person team who can swap tire the fastest, WINS!

Intel Virtual Code Battle
For Intel's IDF2016, Globacore designed and developed Virtual Code Battle, a custom tron-style multiplayer untethered VR game. We used the Oculus hooked up to a laptop on a custom backpack frame. Room-scale tracking was done with the Optitrack cameras mounted on a truss. Attendees customized their VR avatars with a 3D scanner made of 30 webcams connected to Intel Edisons. Additionally, 'Helper Stations' were designed for attendees on the outside to help beat the enemies inside the VR arena.
IEEE Mars Exploration VR
Globacore designed and built a Mars Mission 4 player VR Game for IEEE at the 2016's CES in Las Vegas. Players were 3D scanned using a custom 40 camera setup, then played as themselves in a collaborative 4 player mars mission in Virtual Reality.

In the distant future of 2048, one sport rules them all: PowerCube VR. Take on the role of the CubeMaster, and fight for glory, or die trying. In this exciting new digital game from Globacore Interactive Technologies, fight against other CubeMasters using the power of the GlobaNet, allowing you to connect to players all over the event space (2 player limit, for now). Strap on the revolutionary Oculus Rift headset and watch the graphics come to life in front of your eyes. Control the nonstop action with the custom designed PowerCube motion controller, the most geometrical tool in your arsenal on your quest to victory. This ain’t your ordinary block stacking puzzle game.
PaperDude VR is built in Unity with 3D assets created in 3D studio and textured in Photoshop. The KickR sensor detects the speed of the bike and has the ability to provide programatically controlled resistance. The KickR communicates speed and cadence through bluetooth to a nearby iPad which updates our app over OSC. The Oculus Rift VR headset lets you look around your scene in a full 360 degrees and allows you to focus your newspaper aim. The Kinect controller tracks the positions of your hands and arms, and detects the paper-throwing gesture.

Mercedes-Benz Brand Immersion
The Mercedes-Benz Brand Immersion is an experience designed to highlight the history of innovation of the brand. The tour includes visits to the Brand Immersion centre, workshops, test drive courses and a factory tour. The digital experience will highlight products, people and other key contributors to the brand. A custom tailored iOS application keeps track of vistors progress through the tour. The application included a social timeline, where visitors could share and comment on each others photos. Notes and photos are synced up to a personalized webpage that visitors could access during and after the tour. Visitors collected “Stars” when completing a variety of games designed to engage and highlight the history of innovation. An interactive map of the spaces helped tie in the digital engagements with the physical space. Bluetooth triggers positioned in the space would zoom the map into the relevant area.
WestJet Christmas Miracle
Thanks to a team of merry WestJetters and the power of technology, we've learned that miracles really do happen. The custom video chat application connected passengers at Toronto and Hamilton airports to a virtual Santa stationed near WestJet’s HQ in Calgary.
Passengers were invited to scan their boarding pass at a larger than life gift-box kiosk — the passenger’s name, pulled off the 2D barcode were then displayed on the screen as a friendly greeting, followed by a “Connecting to the North Pole” load screen… and then, powered by the open technologies of Web RTC and OpenFrameworks — portrait oriented Santa was piped through at a crystal clear 1080p.
On Santa’s side, Mr. Claus got a video stream of the guest, with a heads up display of their name… just in case he forgot (it is busy this time of year). Guests could then communicate directly with Santa in real-time and ask him for whatever gift they wanted!
As a team, Studio M, WestJet, Globacore, Mosaic & The Taylor Group exceeded program objectives garnering more than 35 million YouTube views and more than 328 million media impressions, contributing to an unexpected and unprecedented increase in sales during the holiday period.
To date, the campaign has been honoured with the SUPER REGGIE Award, four golds at the Brand Activation Association REGGIE Awards in Chicago, Ad Age’s award for Best Viral Stunt at the Viral Video Awards In New York City & is a top Cannes contender in the Titanium & Integrated category.
The BNY Mellon SIBOS Payment Challenge is a game that simulates foreign exchange transactions. Players use iPods to enter the game via a tradeshow badge swipe and by entering strategic trade parameters into the custom built and branded iOS interface. The system is a 12 screen LCD MPE application written in OpenFrameworks.
Honda INDY Interactive Racing Trivia Game
The Taylor Group's long standing client Honda was interested in developing a large format multi-player interactive game to be played by visitors to their corporate tent at the 2012 Honda Indy. Using a racing theme and visuals based on the event, a trivia game was conceived where up to four simultaneous players could answers questions about Honda products and history. In complement to the large format video wall, a custom iPod touch application was designed and developed to capture attendees name, email and phone at the beginning of the experience. This user-led action requested minimal input from the player facilitating a low barrier to entry while enabling the experience to be more personalized.
Additional sound effects were used within the individual devices rewarding correct answers with acceleration sound effects and incorrect answers with braking audio cues. Through communication over WIFI the users' interactions on the iPod Touch devices were instantly represented on the large 13' wide video wall on the individual player speedometer and in the actual speed of the race cars.
Other notable game mechanics included a top 10 leader-board encouraging competition and return visits throughout the event as well as an automatic SMS notification to users who had been bumped from top spots. The Honda Trivia Racing Game provided participants with a fun and engaging branded experience and demonstrates an effective tool for both lead retrieval opportunities and participation metrics.
We are very honored to have won Gold for the Honda Indy Toronto Interactive Trivia Game at the The 2012 EventTech Awards. The award category was “Best Use of Handheld Technology”. The EventTech Awards recognizes the best use of technology in experiential marketing.
